Overwatch 2 has unique sensitivity requirements per hero role. Hitscan DPS need different sens than projectile or tank players.

This guide covers sensitivity ranges by role, competitive graphics settings, and hero-specific tips.

  • OW2 uses yaw 0.0066 - different from most FPS games.
  • Hitscan DPS: 3000-4500 eDPI. Tank: 4000-6000 eDPI. Support: 3500-5000 eDPI.
  • Relative Aim Sens While Zoomed: 38 for sniper scope matching.

Sensitivity by Role

Hitscan DPS (Soldier, Cassidy, Ashe): 3000-4500 eDPI. Lower for precision tracking.

Projectile DPS (Pharah, Junkrat, Echo): 4000-5500 eDPI. Slightly higher for leading shots.

Tank: 4000-6000 eDPI. Need quick 180s to peel for team.

Support: 3500-5000 eDPI. Balance between aim and awareness.

Competitive Graphics (Season 14)

In competitive OW2, stable FPS are critical for precise tracking. Most pros use low-medium settings to maximize performance and reduce input lag.

Display Mode: FULLSCREEN. Resolution: 1920x1080 native. FOV: 103 (maximum). NVIDIA Reflex: ON + BOOST. V-Sync: OFF always.

  • Reduce Buffering: ON (critical for input lag)
  • Triple Buffering: OFF
  • Graphics Quality: LOW or MEDIUM
  • Texture Quality: LOW (doesn't affect enemy visibility)
  • Texture Filtering Quality: LOW
  • Local Fog Detail: LOW

Competitive Audio

Positional audio in OW2 is key tactical information. Footsteps, ults and abilities give you advantage in team fights.

Music Volume: OFF for concentration. Sound Effects: 80-100%. Voice Chat: adjust to preference. Dolby Atmos for Headphones: optional, some pros prefer OFF for clearer audio.
