How it works

We calculate your equivalent sensitivity to ensure that the distance you move your mouse translates to the same rotation in-game, regardless of the title.

Converted sensitivity = (Original sensitivity x Original DPI) / Target DPI x Game ratio

Knowledge Base

Everything you need to understand about sensitivity, eDPI and conversions

eDPI (effective Dots Per Inch) is the result of multiplying your mouse DPI by your in-game sensitivity. For example, using 800 DPI with 0.4 sensitivity in Valorant gives you an eDPI of 320. This metric unifies cursor speed regardless of how you split DPI and sens individually.

The importance of eDPI lies in standardized comparison between players and across games. Two players with 800 DPI x 0.4 sens and 400 DPI x 0.8 sens have exactly the same eDPI (320), producing identical mouse behavior in-game. The technical difference between high DPI/low sens versus low DPI/high sens is practically zero on modern sensors (HERO 25K, Focus Pro, PAW3395).

In today's competitive ecosystem, the average eDPI of Radiant Valorant players sits around 280-350, while CS2's equivalent (converted to yaw 0.022 scale) is slightly lower. Apex Legends, with its higher TTK and greater mobility, tends toward slightly higher eDPIs. The key is not copying a number but finding your comfort zone within your main game's competitive range.

cm/360 (centimeters per 360-degree turn) measures the physical distance your mouse must travel across the mousepad to complete a full rotation in-game. It is the most reliable metric for measuring sensitivity because it is software-independent: it only depends on your hardware (DPI) and the game's sensitivity setting.

The general formula is: cm/360 = (2.54 x 360) / (DPI x sensitivity x game yaw). The "yaw" is an internal multiplier each game uses to translate mouse input into camera rotation. Valorant uses yaw 0.07, CS2 uses 0.022, Apex Legends uses 0.022, and each game has its own value. This is why you cannot copy sensitivity numbers directly between games: you need a mathematical conversion.

A cm/360 of 30-35 cm is considered medium-low sensitivity in tactical shooters (ideal for Valorant and CS2), while 25-30 cm is medium-high (more common in mobility-heavy games like Apex or Fortnite). AWPers and sentinels typically sit above 40 cm/360 for maximum precision on static angles.

SensAi calculates this conversion automatically using official yaw values for each game, verified against developer SDKs and documentation. Our database includes over 25 games with yaw values updated to the latest patch.

Sensitivity conversion between games is based on matching the cm/360: the physical distance your mouse travels for a full rotation. The goal is to maintain identical muscle memory regardless of which game you are playing. This eliminates the adaptation period when switching between titles.

The mathematical process: first calculate the cm/360 of your source game using (2.54 x 360) / (DPI x source_sensitivity x source_yaw). Then solve for the target game sensitivity: target_sensitivity = (2.54 x 360) / (DPI x cm360 x target_yaw). DPI stays constant as it is a hardware setting, not software.

It is important to understand that mathematical conversion equalizes physical distance, but visual "feel" may vary between games due to differences in FOV (Field of View), engine acceleration, weapon animation speed, and input post-processing. For this reason, some professional players who switch between Valorant and CS2 adjust their converted sensitivity by 5-8% based on personal preference.

SensAi algorithms include not just basic hipfire conversion, but also ADS (Aim Down Sights) conversions for games with separate zoom multipliers like Call of Duty Warzone, Rainbow Six Siege, and Apex Legends. Our tool also accounts for yaw changes introduced in recent patches, updating periodically with official release notes.
